Doug Ambrose has been a missionary evangelist with
OM Lifehope in the United
Kingdom for the last several years. Although legally blind, Doug's
ministry and gifting is in giving vision and hope to disabled people
through sharing his life's testimony of what God has done and is still
doing in his life.
Doug's
world vision first came into focus as a young adult when he learned
about the numbers of unreached people groups still remaining on the
earth. He prayed fervently about what he could do to help people in
other countries hear the life changing gospel of Jesus Christ. He spent
his summers going on mission outreach trips, seeking to be used by God.
During these trips, the Lord opened Doug's eyes to what he should be
doing with his life. Doug determined that the Lord would have
him finish college and go into ministry fulltime. Instead of choosing a
college or university that had special programs for the blind, Doug
wanted to go to a school that had a special emphasis on world missions.
About that time, Doug suffered other personal crises, and on top of
that, his voice box "went out," leaving him unable to speak above a
whisper. For most people, assaults on this many levels would've caused
them to draw back - especially from a call to overseas
missions and ministry!

we're exempt from the call of God, we find someone else with that same
flaw, that same weakness or that same reason who is actively pursuing
total discipleship and all-out obedience. Doug Ambrose is one of those

Overcoming not only his physical limitations, but enduring faithfully through other personal life challenges, Doug went to Asbury College in Wilmore, KY for the beginning of his Christian ministry education and later transferred to Southern Methodist College in Orangeburg, SC to finish his training for missions before going on the mission field fulltime as an evangelist with Operation Mobilisation in the United Kingdom.
Doug is an incredible witness in the United Kingdom, souls are getting saved and people are experiencing the freedom that can only be found in Jesus Christ. Doug shares the testimony of what God has done in his life wherever he goes. He is a living example of hope to all, especially to those suffering physical disabilities. He embodies Philippians 4:13 - "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me."
The
snares of the devil and bondage of sin often try to overcome us, to hold
us down and to keep us from living the life that God has for us. Doug
uses escapology as a tool of evangelism to demonstrate this. Escapology
is the practice of escaping from physical restraints and traps either by
illusionist's techniques or by feats of real strength.
Using handcuffs and strait jackets, Doug demonstrates the hold that sin can get on our lives. The more we try to get out on our own, the harder it seems. It must be the gospel of Jesus Christ that saves us. There is no greater strength.

presenting the message of salvation on street corners or church
sanctuaries, whether through magic tricks or personal testimony,
Doug Ambrose is dedicated to spreading the life changing and freeing
love of Christ wherever he goes. He's on a mission.
